Details
Thooku Vilakku, originating from the South Indian culture, is a traditional hanging lamp fixture commonly found in households and temples. Crafted intricately with brass or other metals, it features a conical or cylindrical body adorned with artistic engravings and intricate patterns. Suspended from ceilings or hooks, the Thooku Vilakku holds oil or ghee (clarified butter) as fuel, with a cotton wick providing illumination. Beyond its functional role, the Thooku Vilakku carries cultural and religious significance, often used in ceremonies, festivals, and rituals to symbolize light, prosperity, and divine blessings, embodying the rich heritage and spiritual ethos of South India.
